Description
Since 1989, Fondazione Banco Alimentare ETS has been recovering surplus production from the agrifood chain and, through its network of 21 organizations spread throughout the country, redistributes it to more than 7,600 Territorial Partner Organizations that provide food aid to more than 1,7900,000 people in need throughout Italy.
Banco Alimentare recovers and redistributes food that is still excellent and not expired that would be destined for destruction. Saved from waste, they regain value and become wealth for those who have too little. The main sources of supply are: the Agribusiness Industry, Large-scale Retail, Fruit and Vegetable Markets and Catering. To these are added products from the National Fund and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). In 2024, more than 93,000 tons of food were collected and distributed. The work of the Food Bank is possible thanks to the daily work of 1,900 volunteers.
DONATIONS COLLECTED WILL BE TRANSFERRED IN FULL TO THE FOOD BANK FOUNDATION ETS, WITHOUT RETAINING ANY FEES.
